BASIC BODY TISSUES

Lyna Huynh

MUSCLE TISSUE

Muscle tissue have many

important functions. There
are three types of muscle
tissues: skeletal, cardiac,
and smooth muscles.
Mainly, muscle tissues are
here to support our body,
locomotion, and heat
production.

Examples:
Skeletal Muscle
- Found in heart
Smooth Muscle
-Found in bones
Cardiac Muscle
- Found in various parts of the body such as
the small intestines

NERVOUS TISSUE

As for nervous tissue,

it also have it own
functions. Primary, its
function is to stimuli
and conduct
impulses to various
organs in the body.
Nerve tissues located
in the brain and the
spinal cord are all
made up of
specialized nerve
cells called neurons.

Examples:
- Brain
- Spinal Cord
-Peripheral Nerves

CONNECTIVE TISSUE

Connective tissues provide a

transport system in our body for
oxygen and other important
substances. Such as, cartilage
provides a strong support for our
skeletal system.

Examples:
- Cartilage
- Bones
- Blood
- Fat Tissues

EPITHELIAL TISSUE

Epithelial tissues are sheets of

packed cells that line organs and
body cavities. There are many
functions to epithelial tissue,
such as:
Protection
Sensory
Secretion
Absorption
Excretion
Diffusion
Cleaning
Reduces Friction
