Science
Students will investigate, through experimentation, the characteristics of air. Students will assess
the impact of human activities on air and water in the environment, taking different points of view
into consideration, and plan a course of action to help keep the air and water in the local community
clean. Students will also assess personal and family uses of water as responsible/efficient or
wasteful, and create a plan to reduce the amount of water used, where possible.
Social Studies
Students will identify the location of selected countries, cities, and/or towns around the world, and
describe how their location and climate are related. Students will also describe some of the ways in
which two or more distinct communities have adapted to their location, climate, and physical
features. Students will demonstrate the ability to extract information on the location and climate
of a region from photographs and print, digital, and/or interactive maps.
Language
Students will continue to engage in rehearsed and spontaneous spoken interactions on familiar topics
related to matters of personal interest or daily routines.
