1.0-Problem Statement

Create a tower using toothpick

and glue
Base = 15cm x 15cm
Minimum height = 15cm
Must optimize the tower using
our creativity

2.0-Literature Review

Structural analysis is the basic knowledge to create a tower

To determine the type of analysis:
1.

Mechanics of material

2.

Strength of material

3. Elasticity approach
. Electric tower is the tower that we can see clearly the beam

PROTOTYPE DESIGN

SHAPE DESIGN ON TOWER

PARTS
Most successful towers have many triangles as
part of the design. Triangles help make the tower
rigid and strong.

The more triangles, the stronger the tower. This is true for both vertical
and horizontal parts of the tower.

Force

If we choose rectangle as our wall, when the force exerted on

the top of the wall, it tends to lean to right and the left.
(Unstable)
From this theory, we choose to increase the triangle-shaped
wall to our tower to increase stability.

SPECIFICATION OF TOWER
Top view:
The top was build
in smaller shape
than middle and
bottom to ensure
the stability of
the tower.
The angle of
triangle shape is
60degree to make
the balance of the
triangle itself.

Bottom View(base):
Base is build bigger
than upper part so
that we can ensure
the stability of the
tower.
We build this tower in
hexagon shaped to
increase the
appearance value and
stability value of the
tower.
