Two upcoming events are scheduled in the same week in March:


Howard County Music Festival (March 17&18)

ISHMA Contest/Concession Stand (March 20&21)

Howard County Music Festival / Hospitality Night


Tuesday, March 17

The night before performance, band will provide a reception with finger-foods

Howard County Music Festival


Wednesday, March 18

Every band and choir student in Howard County Schools will attend and perform

Taylor, Western, Eastern, Northwestern take turns hosting; this is NHSs turn

Performance will be in NHS gymnasium

Doors open at 6:00

Concert begins at 7:00

Continental breakfast will be provided for directors and guests


Mrs. Hollinger from NHS cafeteria will cater

Band must supply workers

Ticket Sellers needed


Five volunteers are needed to sell tickets at the door from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m.

ISSMA Contest (for Middle Schools)

THIS IS A VERY HELPFUL EVENT FOR OUR BEND FINANCIALLY.

PLEASE PLAN TO HELP with CONCESSION STAND.

Concession Stand volunteers needed Saturday, March 21


Menu will include pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, pizza, pretzels, donuts...

Concessions expects to serve 2600 kids in 24 hours

NHS Sports Boosters has offered support if needed

Contact Mr. Snyder or Band Boosters if youre able to help (Please say yes!)

Middle School band parents will volunteer for all positions except concession stand for

Mr. Snyder announces changes for next marching season


Improvements in show design will be seen for next season

Band will retain its former identity (performing well-known music), but music will be
written differently

New staff will be considered to assist with next marching band season

Mr. Snyder believes these changes will be a major step forward in quality and
composition

Proposed Amendment to Band Bylaws was passed

Procedure has been followed to amend the band bylaws, allowing Mr.
Snyder and Mr. Rodgers access to financial records
The new amendment will include band directors in share management, enabling them
to do the following:

Offer gentle reminders to kids about band shares

Offer students alternative ways to pay their band shares, through


volunteering and fundraising

The most exciting new development in uniforms


Our fabulous new uniforms are machine washable.

Clarissa Reese and Krystal Thibault have laundered all uniforms for next season.

Please thank these ladies when you see them.

Band Uniforms
Band wardrobe has officially been moved into its new closet.

Winter drumline students have all been fitted for uniforms.

Next fitting will be in June.

Locker decorations have been delivered to Mr. Snyder and are ready to be distributed at
his discretion

Fundraising
Opportunities
Chipotle restaurant fundraiser Wednesday, December 3, 2014 was a grand success
The band earned $1,043 profit for the four-hour event

Roger Shine will contact Chipotle and attempt to arrange another event

Market Day fundraiser

Ongoing every month

Stadium Blanket fundraiser


Blankets are still available; cost is $40 per blanket

BandMan Decals (super-cute)


Decals are in the image of a band man dressed in Tiger Pride Band uniform

About four inches in height

Could be adhered to a vehicle or instrument case

Available for purchase: $5 each

Roger Shine made a motion to offer decals as a pay-off incentive for band shares

Select band T shirts from this year are available for $1
