Riverside Police Recover All Stolen Property from District 96 Theft


Detectives visit numerous pawnshops and recover all reported stolen property
On Thursday, February 5, 2015, Riverside
Police investigators recovered all the reported
stolen property taken in a District 96 theft. On
January 14, 2015, the Riverside Police
Department received a report of a theft at
Blythe Park School. Through an extensive
investigation, a contract IT employee was
arrested for felony theft on Thursday,
January 28, 2015.
Over the last week, officers assigned to the
case have been tracking down the reported
stolen property and were able to recover all it
as of Thursday, February 5th from several
different pawn shops. The stolen property
included iPads, MacBook Pros, an Apple TV
and one Apple computer. The pawnshops were located on the 6300 block of West North Avenue in Oak Park,
1300 block of Pulaski in Chicago, 6400 block of West North Avenue in Chicago, 2000 block of West North
Avenue in Chicago and the 3700 block of West Fullerton in Chicago. It was reported that other items may have
been sold at the pawnshops and police are following those leads as the case investigation still continues.
Riverside investigators visited each pawnshop individually and identified the property and recovered the
videotape as evidence of the sales. The property has been logged into evidence for future court appearances
by the defendant.
Defendant arrested in original case Lamawr C. Palmer, 31 of the 4600 block of West McLean Street in
Chicago.
