NOTICE OF UPCOMING WORK

February 6, 2014
Water main assessment work to occur in your neighborhood March 11 - 13

PROJECT / DESCRIPTION
Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) will work in your neighborhood March 11 13, 2015. The work will
involve shutting down a water main and running equipment through the pipe to assess its condition.
Crews will send pieces of equipment through the pipe from an entry fire hydrant and retrieve them
through an exit fire hydrant at the end of the pipe. This process will help SPU determine the condition
of the pipe and if it needs to be replaced.
In order to perform this work, some customers will have their water shut off for one day on either
March 11, 12 or 13. Water will be shut down starting at 8 am and will remain off for eight to twelve
hours. SPU will notify affected customers with a separate notice later this month and a reminder door
hanger notification at least 72 hours in advance of the water shutdown.

SCHEDULE
Crews will begin work in the neighborhood around 7 am and end around 9 pm for three consecutive
days.
LOCATION
Work with occur on 36th Avenue SW and 37th Avenue SW between SW Brandon Street and SW
Morgan Street.
