2014 ALTOONA DISTRICT MISSION HUB YEAR END REPORT

Mission Central HUB of Altoona District hand a successful 7th year.

God continues to open doors for us to help here locally and around the world through UMCOR. Since the inception of
our Altoona HUB we have made over 164 local distributions of non-standard kit items, quilts and furniture.
Two of our jean quilts were auctioned at the Elegance in the Warehouse as a fund raiser for Mission Central,
Mechanicsburg.
In May we held our 7th year HUB celebration and named Beverly Mostic as volunteer of the year.
This was the first year that we attempted to make up a quantity of birthing kits. With the help of local churches, Sunday
school kids, youth groups, womens groups and others; we surpassed our goal of 300 having a total of 614.
As with every July we held our Blueberry fundraiser. We were very blessed to have sold 1,390 with a net profit of
$12,520 which pays for the operating expenses at the HUB from July 2014 through June, 2015. This was especially a
blessing due to the fact that there were other blueberry sales at the same time.
Here are some statistics for the HUB:

Volunteer hours for the year 828; 17,725 hours since our inception
For UMCOR: 1371 School kits, 100 cleaning buckets, 365 layette kits, 1,727 health kits, and 614 birthing kits.

The values of the UMCOR kits are $60,363.00 with a total of $457,970 in our six years of operation. We have estimated
the value of donations to various ministries, social service agencies, etc., are approximately $60,000-$70,000. The jean
quilts made by many volunteers are 256 with an estimated value of $12,800.
We continue to strive to be the Hands and Feet of Jesus around the world and here in our little corner.
Suffice it to say that without the volunteers from our churches, other groups and individuals donation time, supplies and
money these doors could not stay open. All glory to God our Father who supplies it all.
