Over 85% of all Breakthrough students, grades 7-12, maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher. 83% of our middle school students showed improvement in their math diagnostic test scores after a year of intensive after-school math classes in Breakthroughs Math Institute. 91% of our current 9th grade class (total of 45 students) took either Geometry or Algebra II as a freshman. For comparison, 44% of students in the district enroll in geometry by 9th grade. 100% of our high school students enrolled in rigorous college preparatory coursework, as compared to only 28% of low-income students natonwide. 82% of our 10th-12th graders enrolled in two or more honors, AP, or IB courses. 100% of Breakthrough students are on track to graduate from high school and attend a four-year university. One in five Santa Clara County youth do not complete high school, including 1/3 of Latino youth. Of all Silicon Valley Latino students, less than 25% are UC/CSU eligible. 100% of our Class of 2012 successfully finished their first year of college at the following schools: Gonzaga, USF, Kalamazoo, CSU Monterey Bay, UC Riverside, UC Irvine, UC Santa Cruz, San Jose State University, UC Berkeley, and CSU Long Beach.
