Well Being/Mana Atua

Juju is very independent and can look after
all of her care needs with ease including
toileting, eating, washing hands, cleaning up
and having a rest when needed.
Juju is learning to be more aware of her and
other childrens safety so she can take
responsible risks.

Contribution/Mana Tangata

Belonging/Mana
Whenua
Juju has a strong
sense of belonging
at the centre as
evident through her
taking an interest in
all areas. Her
younger brother
attends; she knows many children and
families outside of school through Mosque
and swimming. Juju has many friends and
enjoys going home in the van as extra time
with friends.
Communication/Mana Reo

Juju enjoys
learning alongside
others, in big
groups and small
groups while
being affirmed as
an individual. Juju
is beginning to
take more
responsibility for
her learning and
belongings and
seeing things through to the end. For example
tasting the yoghurt she made the day before.

Juju is very confident in both English and

Arabic and easily understands and expresses
herself in both languages. Juju is very
passionate about art, movement, music and
all other creative forms of self-expression.
She enjoys making up stories or dramatic
play with close friends both of which are
vocabulary rich experiences.

Exploration/Mana Aotroa

Juju is a very kind, caring, friendly girl who

gets along with all peers regardless of age.
Juju is beginning to take responsibility and
manage her impulses which are important
positive learning dispositions we will nurture.

Juju is making working

theories of her natural,
physical and social
worlds through play. We
are encouraging Juju to
persist with difficulty
rather then quit or
become frustrated. This
disposition will be an asset to her lifelong
journey of learning and is worth the focus.

While Juju develops these dispositions we

want to focus on her basic math, science and
literacy such as colours, shapes, counting,
letters, cause and effect etc. We will
introduce these concepts to her through
teacher directed sessions to encourage the
above dispositions, and then leave materials
available for her to actively explore and
assimilate these ideas which will encourage
her persistence.
