Topic: SOCCER WITHOUT ENEMIES: HAS FIFA DONE ENOUGH TO ERADICATE

RACISM?

The reason why I chose this topic was that, soccer activity brings unity, love, understanding
among players, countries irrespective of their origin. Now world soccer has been dominated
across the globe. Racism is a factor that contribute to the declining the progression of world
soccer. The International Federation of Association football (FIFA) is recognized as an
international organizing body who seek to it that soccer games are free and fair but teams are
now suffering from this. What have they (FIFA) done to eliminate it?
International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) is the international organizing body of
football, its responsibility is to organize major international tournament. It was founded in 1904.
FIFA is also responsible for promoting tournament and provide revenue to sponsor every
activities. It is part of their activities to combat racism among the teams. In March 2014, the
chair of the FIFA Anti- Racism Discrimination Task Force, Jeffery Webb said lets embrace
diversity. Which means that racism is still dominating in the soccer. Again fighting racism,
FIFA came out with a theme called SAY NO TO RACISM. They always use this during soccer
games to admonish supporters from racism chanting in the beginning of every game to show the
world that we are one with common goal.
