Jelly Bean Investigation

Lab Partners: Elizabeth Mamros, Kara Ehrenberger, Noah Fornear


Objective: The purpose of this lab is to design and implement a research project that supplies
data that enlightens us as to the relationship between taste, odor, or texture.
Materials: assorted jelly beans, blindfold, tape, pen, medicine cups
Procedure:
1. Cover partners eyes with blindfold.
2. Hand them a jelly bean recording its designated flavor.
3. Ask them to chew it for ten seconds while holding their nose and record the flavor.
4. Chew for an additional ten seconds without holding your nose and record the flavor.
5. Repeat procedure for four additional jelly beans.
6. Draw conclusions from the data.
