8Introduction
The Gould 051420 provides a combination of Digital
Storage and Real-time facilities, and caters for measure
ments from DC to 20MHtz with a flicker-ree display of
full eyele down to 0.0022, The digital method of
storage provides many advantages, notably the facilities
for pretrigger viewing and the sblity to store a wave
form indefinitely
It features two identical input channels with a maximum
sensitivity of mV/er and a bandwidth from DC up to
20MHlz. The channels may be displayed separately or
together in both STORE and the conventional
NORMAL modes. The ability to display the surn or
difference of the channels and an X-Y mode operation
are available in NORMAL mode, The timebase ranges
{rom 0.005ysfom to 0.25/em in NORMAL mode with
additional ranges dowa to SOs/em m STORE mode,
‘A.x 10 facility expands the upper limit to SOns/em.
In NORMAL and certain of the STORE modes, inde

ake provided.
‘The trigger facilities available are comprshensive,
DC and AC coupling avaiable and a brightline-eee run
facility to enable true location in the absence of a
trigger. An active TY sync. separator is provided for
view ng video waveform
Many additional facilities are provided with the OS1420
such as. plot option fitted as standard, a 1KH2
calibrator, a DC coupled Z modulation input and a trace
rotation control
The instrament is ceadily portable and the use of an
uncommitted logic aay has reduced both the number
of components and board atea. This has additional
benefits in terms of reliability, power consumption and
cease of maintenance
