ReadAThon

Instructions
1. Sign-up for the ReadAThon at http://goo.gl/forms/prrhSzDdkw
2. Find sponsors
a. Fill out the attached Sponsor Form
b. To calculate your reading rate, read for 15 min. and record how many pages you read.
Multiply that number by 4 to get an hourly reading rate estimate.
c. Ask friends and family if they would be willing to donate a set amount of money per page
that you read at the ReadAThon. Record the pledge information on the attached Sponsor
Form
3. Attend the ReadAThon
a. The ReadAThon is from 9am-1pm on Saturday, February 28th
b. Feel free to wear pajamas and bring pillows and blankets
c. We suggest you bring water and snacks.
d. It is alright if you cannot stay for the entire event
e. Keep track of every page you read
4. Collect Donations
a. After you have completed the ReadAThon, determine how much each sponsor should
donate and collect the money.
b. Checks can be made out to Heritage Middle School
c. Return the money with one of the attached donation slips to Mrs. Robertson in room 801
by Friday, March 6.

Raffle Rules
1. Raffles will be held every hour throughout the ReadAThon
2. Students are eligible to earn a raffle ticket
a. For attending the event
b. For each sponsor who pledges for them
c. For every 10 pages they read at the ReadAThon
d. At Mrs. Robertson and Mrs. Rayburns discretion
3. Prizes are being donated. A complete list is located on the HMS Broncos Book Club Website.
