Global Volunteer Network

connecting people with communities in need

23rd June 2014

To whom it may concern,

I am writing on behalf of Katie Edney who participated in a volunteer program through our
organization, Global Volunteer Network. The Global Volunteer Network (GVN) is a New Zealand
Charitable Trust (non-profit NGO) based in Wellington, New Zealand, which places volunteers in a
range of community projects in locations such as Costa Rica, Peru, Kenya, Vietnam, and Nepal.
Katie volunteered in the Costa Rica project for 2 weeks starting from June 2014.
In the Construction Program, volunteers worked alongside local staff and took part in activities such
as painting, building walls, and various preparation work such as cement mixing, sand sifting, and
transporting building materials.
The work that Katie undertook is completely voluntary with volunteers paying for all their own
expenses, including airfares. Global Volunteer Network greatly appreciates the time and commitment
Katie gave to the program.
If you have any questions about our organization or the specific program that Katie took part in you
may phone or email me directly.

Yours truly,
