WATER CORPORATION Yarra Valley Water is now a water corporation Yarra Valley Water, along with the two other Melbourne metropolitan water retailers, transitioned to a water corporation on 1 July 2012. Our legal entity name changed from Yarra Valley Water Limited to Yarra Valley Water Corporation. Yarra Valley Water Corporation now primarily operates under the Water Act 1989, instead of the Water Industry Act 1994. Any legal documents will now need to be signed as Yarra Valley Water and include the Australian Business Number ABN 93 066 902 501. This includes deeds, easement creations, Section 173 agreements and contracts. Where plans of subdivision are creating new water and sewerage easements and they are lodged at the Registrars Office, we now require them to be in favour of Yarra Valley Water. To prevent rework and delays, please update your practices to reflect this statutory change.
