Hong Kong Inter-School Chess Championships 2015

Organised by Hong Kong Juniors Chess Club & Sponsored by Island School
The Hong Kong Inter-School Chess Championships 2015, organized by the Hong Kong Juniors Chess Club,
sponsored by Island School, will take place on Saturday and Sunday, March 28 & 29, 2015.
Type of tournament
There will be 3 sections: one for secondary schools, one for primary schools and a special one for lower primary students
(Year 1 Year 3) of primary schools.
This is a team event with 4 players in each team. All members of a school team shall be students of that school.
There will be 7 rounds in each section with 4 boards each round.
A school may enter any number of teams but it is only eligible for a maximum of one team prize and two board prizes on
each board order in each section.
Time limits per game will be 25 minutes for each player in the primary and lower primary sections; and 1 hour in the
secondary section.
Players in the secondary section shall keep score of the games until his/her clock has less than 5 minutes.

Time:
From 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Venue:
Hall, Island school, 20 Borrett Road, Mid Levels, Hong Kong
Lunch:
There will be a short break for lunch at about 1.00 p.m. on each playing day. No food and drink other
than water is permitted inside the tournament room.
Prize:
Trophies for the first, second and third teams plus a medal for each team member in every section.
There will also be board prizes for the top 3 players on each board order. The number of board prizes
will be increased to 6 if there are more than 20 entries in that section.
Entry fee:
$400 per team for early registration on or before 12 February. 2015;
$800 per team for late registration, and the registration will be closed by mid night on 17 Mar. 2015
Registration: Registration must be made on-line at www.hkjuniorchess.org. Payment is also to be made on-line.
Once registration is completed with payment made, Paypal will send you a receipt by email, which
will serve as confirmation of your registration. No refund for withdrawal after registration. If you do
not receive the receipt, it is very likely that your registration has been unsuccessful or you have
provided a wrong email address and you should check your credit card. Please bring along a copy of
the receipt in case verification is required. The team list will be automatically uploaded on
www.hkjuniorchess.org once your registration (with payment) is successful.
