ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION
Increasingly complex health care and services are needed where patients lead a good and
accurate, patient rights and demands attention and will be true and accurate information.
The fact that there is in the hospital shows that there are still new graduate nurses or nurses
who have long worked in the hospital still did not use critical thinking in their work. Thus, in
providing health care or nursing care to patients is based on physician instructions or daily
habits. Thus achieving the proper provision of nursing care and accurate cannot be
implemented fully in the hospital. Nurses still underestimated by other professions and the
public.
In this paper, I will find out how the curriculum in nursing education should apply critical
thinking in teaching and learning so as to produce nursing graduates who can think critically
in providing nursing care primarily for the Nursing Diploma program.
There are many application of critical thinking in nursing curiculum such as Simulation Based
learning (Kaddoura, 2010), student-centered, problem-based learning (PBL) approach,
clinical case discussion, peer discussion, experience-sharing of real clinical cases, and self
reflection (Chang, et all, 2011).
