for Park Installation
At the corner of Bay and Strachan Streets
and opposite the entrance to Hamiltons
Bayfront Park is the Simcoe Tot Lot.
For the past year and more a small group of
North End residents/volunteers (the Friends
of the Park) have been working to create a
garden installation in this local park for
completion prior to the July 2015 Pan Am
Games.
With the help of Hamiltons Chinese
Community, we are building the SUNSET
CULTURAL GARDEN. Included in the
garden will be an art installation and we need
your input for this.

The primary garden is an 80 foot oval with a
central polished concrete installation of
radiating arms.
Each arm will have poetry or prose etched
into the surface with the name of the author
included.

SUNSET THEME
We are looking for Poetry or Prose
submissions (from anyone in the City of
Hamilton) on the theme of SUNSETS.
Number of words: 5 to 50
Because the nature of the Sunset Cultural
Garden is to celebrate and reflect the cultural
diversity of our neighbourhood and city, the
submissions should be in any language
other than English. (Please also provide
English language translation).
