SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter summarizes the study, makes conclusions and presents


recommendations based on the findings of the study.

Summary
Generally, the product was found to have a very satisfactory rating of 4.2375.
Results showed that the Yacon cupcakes met all the criteria given. It has a very
satisfactory aroma, very good texture, appearance, palatability and has good taste and
presentation. Yacon is an efficient main ingredient in making cupcakes.

Conclusion
Based on the results of the study, Yacon can be a main ingredient for cupcakes.
The product can help regulate or lessen the blood sugars of diabetics. The yacon is
also low in calories, thus making it a good, nutritious diet food. The yacon has only 54
calories. It contains carbohydrates (oligo-fuctans), which pass through the digestive tract
unmetabolized, so that it is perfect for those who suffer from obesity. Add to this the fact
that the yacon purifies the blood and whose high-fiber content assists in digestion.
Recommendations
1. We recommend that other pastries and delicacies be made out of yacon.
2. Further elucidation on the therapeutic effort be made uses yacon.
