Geometry

Project
by: Jimmy jackson

The Point
-The point in Geometry is there to represent and
show the location in geometry.
It can be used to represent real world location
the reason i chose this photo is because it
gives a real life look at a point and by showing
as a location as i said it was.
Postulates: if two lines intersect, then they
intersect in exactly point. through any two
points there is exactly one line. Through any
three noncollinear points there is exactly one
plane containing them.

Line
-A line in geometry
represent distance
The reason i
used this picture
is because it a
line which has
distance
Postulate: If two
lines intersect ,
then they
intersect in
exactly one line

Plane
-This is a two dimensional shape used to
plot point and lines, intersecting with
another plan at times
The reason is used this picture is
because you can use this floor to
place objects on it just like a plane.
and the things you put on it are
points/ plans

Postulates: Through any

three noncollinear points
there is exactly on plane
containing them.

Segment
-A segment in geometry is a line with two
endpoints. which means it has a start and a stop
including distance
The reason i chose this picture is because it
has all characteristics of a line. the
endpoints are the lead and the eraser, and
the line in the wood in between
Postulates: if B is between A and C , then
AB+BC=AC.

Ray
-A ray i a line that has one endpoint
but on the other side goes on
forever. this by meaning it has an
infinity travel towards that location
The reason i chose this picture is
because it has all characteristics
a ray. the sun light keeps going
on for thousands of light years
away

Acute angles
-Acute angles are angles that are less
than 90 degrees
The reason i chose this picture is
because you can visually see a
acute angle at the bottom of the
pizza.
Postulates: If angle S is in the
interior of angle PQR , then
measure of angle SQR = measure
of angle PQR

Obtuse Angles
-Obtuse angles are angles
that are 91 degrees or bigger
The reason why i chose
this picture is because this
pitcher legs is extended
over 90 degrees. this is
clearly a obtuse angle

Right Angle
-Right angles are angle
that measure to be
perfectly 90 degrees
I chose this picture
because you can
clearly see a 90
degree angle on the
left side of the bird
house

Perpendicular Lines
-Perpendicular line are line
that intersect at a point
angles equal 90 degrees
the reason i chose this
photo is because it has
intersecting line which
represent perpendicular
lines

Complementary
Angles
-complementary angles are two
angles that equal 90 degrees
the reason i chose this picture
is because you can see two
acute angle in the clock. which
they make up to be a 90 degree
angle

Supplementary Angles
-Supplementary angle are two
angle that add up to be 180
degrees
The reason i chose this picture
because you can see two
angle and when they add up
they will be a straight line
