ELECTRONICS HIGH SPEED TRIPPING RELAYS HIGH SPEED TRIPPING RELAY FEATURES © Electromechanical design Plug-in modules © Screw terminals © Self or hand reset contacts ¢ Protective transparent cover for the element © Compact flush mounting case APPLICATION High speed tipping functions requiring a number of simultaneous switching operations, interlocks in control JRV 181 and closing circuits DESCRIPTION High speed tripping relays are electromechanical, attracted armature type, used in control and alarm cir- cuits. There relays are designed as plug-in elements with the plug-in base having 16 terminals per element. Each element is enclosed in a dust proof moulded, transparent, polycarbonate cover. There is no hard wiring between the relay element and the rear terminals on the base. This results in a compact rugged and reliable design. Radio metal is used for the magnetic components such as the armature, the core and the yoke of the relay to ensure good electrical performance. The contacts are made from phosphor bronze and are nickel plated, The contact tips are of pure silver. The use of these materials ensures very good contact perfor- mance. Each element can be offered as - 3 NO + 1 NC or 2 NO + 2 NC to be specified while ordering. High speed tripping relays are available in the following versions : Contact and flag arrangement No. of elements! relay type 7 2 3 STR contact and SIR flag IRV IRV 172 IRV 173 FIR contact and H/R flag IRV 181 IRV 182, IRV 183, TECHNICAL DATA RATINGS Rated voltage 24,30, 48, 110, 220 or 250 V DC Operating range 50-120% of rated voltage Burden 25 watts (maximum) at rated voltage Operating time Less than 10 ms at rated voltage (nominal) Operation indicator Hand reset mechanical flag Contacts 4NO + INC or 2NO + 3NC S/R or H/R CONTACT RATING Make & Carry continous(AC ~ DC) 2500 VA with maxima of S A and maxima of 660 V AC 2500 W with maxima of SA and maxima of 660 V DC HIGH SPEED TRIPPING RELAY VS Type : JRV 174/181 [ELecTRowics| Make & Carry for 3 Break (AC-DC) Insulation s (AC — DC) Operating temperature MECHANICAL DESIGN 1509001 2000 7500 VA with maxima of 30 A and maxima of 660 V AC 7500 W with maxima of 30A and maxima of 660 V DC 2500VA with maxima of 5 A and maxima of 660V AC 100W (resistive) SOW (inductive) with maxima of SA and maxima of 250V DC 1)2 KV RMS, SOHz, For 1 minute /2.5 KV for 1s, Between all terminals and case as per IEC 60255 2) 1 KV RMS, S0Hz.
