STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS 2015

REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible to run, all intending students:
Should have attended at least four (student council
meetings)
Should submit a 300 word (maximum) essay briefly
introducing themselves and stating why they would like to
run.
Aspect workers may list what committees they would like
to join.
The deadline for the 300 word essay is Sunday 08 th March,
2015.
All essays should be sent to the official student council
email: sc@stud.rcnuwc.no
All the essays from the candidates shall be compiled into a
single booklet and made available to all students electronically
and in print.

COMMITTEES
Aspect workers shall be entitled to take up the various
committees of their choice, interest or as circumstances by
dictate. Candidates can include the committees of their choice
in the essay (there is no guarantee that you will get into the
committee you apply for).
The House representatives shall also join any committee after
the Aspect workers.

BEFORE THE ELECTIONS

There shall be a Meet the Candidate session on the 15th of
March, 2015 at 20:00hrs (8:00pm) for the entire student body
to know the respective candidates and ask them questions.
In the next student council meeting (Saturday 14th March,
2015), there will be a general information session about the
various posts in the student council by the respective student
council members.
All those who wish to run shall be able to know their attendance
records well beforehand.

ELECTIONS
The elections shall take place in three phases for three days.

The election of the Chair, Board Representative and

Communications Representative shall be held on the 16 th March
from 19:00hrs to 20:00hrs. A maximum of 2 questions may be
directed to the candidates after a one minute speech.
The election of the House representatives shall be held on the
17th March during connect time. Election guidelines shall apply.
A maximum of 2 questions may be directed to the candidates
after a one minute speech.
The election of aspect workers shall be held on the 18 th March
at from 16:45hrs to 17:30hrs. This shall be based on a majority
vote and one question may be directed to the candidate after
a one minute speech.
