Dear Team Leaders,
Hard work and strong communication skills are two very important factors in being an effective
member of a team. In order to be successful, all members of a group need to be on the same page
at all times working together towards one main goal. I believe that my communication skills and
hard work will make me a great fit for your team.
Through part time jobs and extra curricular activities, I have improved my communication skills over
the years. I have worked as a soccer referee, a Jimmy Johns delivery driver, and a Facility
Attendant in the France A. Cordova Recreational Sports Center. I have also played soccer, lacrosse,
and track. In all of these jobs and activities, communication, whether it involves communicating
with teammates, coworkers or customers, has been a key to success.
Aside from communication skills, hard work goes a very long way in group efforts of any kind. When
all members of a team work hard, great things happen. As the Captain of my Varsity High School
soccer team, I led by example by playing hard in practice and in games. As a Facility Attendant, I
have shown coworkers that I will work hard to complete multiple tasks over the course of a shift.
Hard work and communication are definitely two valuable skill sets that are necessary in a team
environment. Without these skills, it can be difficult for a group to complete tasks efficiently and
effectively. I think that this skill set makes me an asset to any team, and I would love the
opportunity to prove it.
