Lesson Objectives

The students will complete a vocabulary

scavenger hunt using words from this lesson.

The students will identify vocab words by

listening to recorded clues.

The students will utilize technology to help

them locate the selected vocab words.

Materials

Smart Phones with QR Code app, Crossword,

Pencil, Clues

Procedures

1. Place clues outside different classrooms

before class.
2. Divide students into 10 groups.
3. Explain the activity.
4. Give students first clue and crossword.
5. Monitor halls to make sure students are
not running or yelling.
6. When they are close to finishing, go
back to classroom to see who wins.
7. Go over answers with students when
everyone has returned.

Assessment &
Evaluation

The assessment and evaluation comes from how the

students do on the scavenger hunt and crossword.
When the students return, we will go over their
answers to see if they are correct or not. This
assesses their knowledge of the vocab, the spelling of
the words, and their listening abilities. The crosswords
will be graded for the correct word and spelling.

You will go on a hunt for different classroom items around the school. Outside of different
classrooms, there will be a sheet with a picture and a QR code on it. The picture will give you a
clue to the answer and the QR code will give you a clue to the next location and answer. When
you figure out the answer, fill in the crossword space. Then, listen to the next clue by scanning
the QR code. The first team to complete the crossword wins!
