Abstract Submission

Participating teams requiring accommodation during Techfest 2015 are required to send the
abstract.

The abstract should contain the following:

Title (should include name of competition):
Team ID:
Full name of team leader:
College of team leader:
Email id of team leader:
Contact no. of team leader:

7. Information about your machine divided into the following sections:

i. Progress and plan of action for the competition (not more than 300 words):
Support your description with both images and video. Images should be attached in the file. The
video should be uploaded on youtube with the title Techfest 2015, IIT Bombay: <Team ID>.
For example, a team participating in Mechatron with team id ME 1018 will name the video as:
Techfest 2015, IIT Bombay ME1018. The URL of the youtube video should be mentioned in
the abstract.
ii. Specifications and pictures of all the parts which you have bought from the market and used
while making the machine
iii. Description of any unusual/advantageous/innovative idea(s) you have used for the competition
(not more than 200 words)
(The details mentioned in the abstract will remain confidential with the organisers)

General guidelines:
1. All details should be mentioned in one abstract only. Only one abstract per team will be accepted.
If a team sends multiple reports for the same competition, the one sent earliest shall be
considered. All other reports shall be discarded.
2. The abstract should be in pdf format only.
3. Arial font should be used with font size 11.
4. Kindly do not exceed the word-limit mentioned above in respective sections.
5. Support your write up with appropriate images of your machine. Note that even photos of
incomplete machine may be attached and if it is not at all possible to include the pictures then try
and integrate 2D plans/CAD drawings in the abstract.
6. The abstract of your machine will be helpful everywhere in future as an evidence of your hardwork, along with determining your position for the competition. So please pay adequate attention
to it.
The abstract should be mailed to competitions@techfest.org before 11 pm on 25th November,
2014. The team id and name of the competition should be clearly mentioned in the subject
of the mail and name of the file being sent, failing which the abstract will not be accepted.
