Diary log-week 8
This week I focused on establishing my target audience and
categorizing them. I achieved this by using the websites of
Pearl and Dean and UK tribe. The information I garnered was
significant in highlighting who I should target my product at for
maximal results.
By visiting the Pearl and Dean website
their GAP graphs gave me a detailed
insight into their audience
categorization. This General Audience
profile allows the reader to identify the
target audiences age, socio economic
group and gender to establish who is
most prominent in consuming the
product. Due to huge differences in my
target audience compared to the
audience of Pearl and Dean I couldnt
compare my audience to theirs.
However, this gave me an insight into how I could efficiently
categorize my audience in a smart and aesthetically pleasing
manner.
By utilising the avatar creator on the UK tribes
website I was able to estimate who would be my
ideal audience member. I resulted in targeting the
nerd tribe due to their affiliation with the Science
Fiction and created an avatar who I believed would
possess general attributes shared by my target
audience.
