Tin Foil
Hot Dog

Kabob Sticks

1.
2.
3.
4.

Procedure:
Use the tin foil and cardboard to create a satellite-dish shape.
Find the focus point of your parabola and set the hot dog there.
Set the cooker out in the sun for about 3 hours.
Record.

Roles:
Sara and Logan built the solar cooker.
Logan did the calculations while Sara wrote the paper.
Calculations:
Width = 24 (61cm)
Height = 9 (2.5cm)

Ideas for Improvement:

1. Lift the hotdog off the foil.
2. Make it more of a satellite shape.
3. Make the rotisserie stronger.
This project was really fun! We had a fun time building and testing the cooker. If we
had more time we wouldve had time to think about the actual design and how we
were going to incorporate the rotisserie. Time wasnt a major issue though. This was
one of our favorite labs!
