1. 2/19 is the Chinese Lunar New Year. It is the year of <Ram>! We wish you a wonderful and successful year!!
2. The 2nd semester Midterm Exam will take place on 2/28. Please remind your student to prepare for the test.
3. The Poetry Recital and Good Article Reading Contest on-line registration will start on 2/28, 6pm. Please visit school
web site for details. Please direct your question(s) to Contest@NorthCountyChineseSchool.org .
4. To celebrate our 35th anniversary, there is the school logo design contest. Parents, please encourage your students to
participate. Please visit school web site: http://www.northcountychineseschool.org/ to download the contest rules and
registration form or stop by school office (#412) for more information. The deadline to submit your work is 2/28/2015.
5. Credit classes & AP class will be in session on Sunday, 3/1/2015 (AM & PM) at SDCCA Learning Center, please contact
your class teacher for time and classroom.
6. Please join us for our 2nd semester PTA meeting on 3/7/15. Top performers from the carnival in revenue, booth
decoration, and Voucher Pre-Salers will be recognized and awarded. There will be an info session about 2015-16 Credit
Classes and Summer Classes at the Learning Center during the PTA meeting. All parents are strongly encouraged to
attend.

7. The registration for 2015 Overseas Youth English Teaching Volunteer Service Program sponsored by OCAC and Ministry
of Education (Taiwan) has started. Please register at http:/www.aidsummer.net. Deadline for registration is 2/28.
8. Attention 2015 Graduates! 14 scholarships of $2,500 each will be awarded to high school seniors and first year college
students planning to attend a university/college in US. For Fall 2015. This scholarship is sponsored by the Taiwanese
American Scholarship Fund (TASF) to help economically challenged Taiwanese American youth fulfill their dreams of obtaining higher
education. The deadline is 3/31/2015. Visit www.TAScholarshipFund.org for more details.
9. Give What You Can Cancer Drive 2/21 - 3/7/15 - A donation box is in placed in the PTA office (# 412) for a 3 weeks
cancer drive to raise fund for one of our NCCS family; a single mother who is currently struggling with Stage 4 lymphoma
and also breast cancer with no immediate relatives in the U.S. She is struggling alone and unable to make ends meet.
Please donate in any amount you are comfortable with.
10. Calling ALL Speech Contest contestants! Please write down your thoughts in 2 or 3 sentences (Chinese is preferred,
but English is fine, too) about your experience of Speech Contest and email to Contest@NorthCountyChineseSchool.org
by 2/28. Your short paragraph will be published on schools Feb. Newsletter.
