T have worked with Mrs. Dailey for the past two years as her supervisor and evaluator. Mrs. Dailey has been an outstanding math teacher and TOSA (teacher on special assignment) at St Helens High School. She serves on our building leadership team, leads our math department, coordinates the math OAKS and Smarter Balanced Assessments, teaches our math intervention courses, participates in site council, and has been a key player in our high school’s transition to credit by proficiency. Mrs. Dailey has consistently demonstrated an eagerness to learn new things and this quality has helped mold her into one of our districts strongest instructional leaders. She is a go to mentor for many new and less experienced teachers and our administrative team bas relied heavily on her talents for the professional development of our entire staff. She could not pull all this off without fantastic communication skills. Whether its parents or district support staff she is in constant communication with people ensuring the programs and activities she is involved with run smoothly. Mrs. Dailey’s organizational skills, ability to receive direction and her follow through with delivering delegated responsibilities is impressive. She also has had some very unique life experiences that have shaped her into a person of strong moral character. ‘These qualities shine through in the classroom and allow her to build relationships with students and motivate those who are struggling academically. She has an excellent rapport with some of our most difficult students, allowing her to conduct quality lessons and get tremendous results. Mrs. Dailey has transformed the way St. Helens High School performs interventions for students who are not at benchmark in math. Mrs. Dailey has developed math intervention and applied technical math courses that better prepare students for national assessments and career related math problem solving. These endeavors fostered higher levels of student success and achievement in our math programs.
