Giddens

(2000) defined Globalization as

a separation of space and time,
emphasizing that with instantaneous
communications, knowledge, and
culture could be shared around the
world simultaneously.
English is becoming in the main spoken
language around the world with
multiples dialects and variations.

English as mediator of communication. A

language achieve a genuinely status when it
develops a special role that is recognized in
every country. Crystal (1997).

Positive and negatives effects of the spread of

English.
English learning is a synonymous of progress,
employment, education, and effective use of new
technologies, inclusive and modernized society.
Less barriers for communicating and interacting
simultaneously with people from other countries,
ideologies or cultures..

The Spread of English, causes people lose their native languages

and their culture. Exclude people with fewer resources.

Adaptations of English creates new varieties of that language, and

it demands that people be able to understand and adapt to diverse
world Englishes or dialects.

People are subjected to homogenize their identities and interests.

We as English teachers have the responsible to contribute to the
globalization process with teaching English as a Foreign Language in our
country.
To carry out class activities through which we can
teach to students to value their ideas, their customs,
and their culture.

CONCLUSION

Globalization not only allows to languages and cultures to

spread and dominate on a global scale, it also leads to the
extinction of other languages and cultures.
Language contributes to the formation of intercultural
relationships.
Teachers need to continue working hard on their own
language learning, keep update with teaching technologies,
and reflect on how their own teaching method is working
and how it can be optimized.
