DEMONSTRATION SATURDAY IN THE KCAC.THIS YEAR THE FORMAT
OF THE DEMONSTRATION WAS BASED ON THE SHOW CHOPPED AND
MADE TO LOOK LIKE A LIVE COOKING SHOW. 7 seconds

were given a mystery basket and had four hours to plan a menu.>
Clip 2 THE MYSTERY BASKET CONTAINED INGREDIENTS THAT WAS
SHOWN AT THE UNVEILING OF THE BASKETS THEN SPENT THE NEXT
FOUR HOURS COOKING THE ACTUAL FOOD.
Clip 3 For the show itself we made short video clips for them to play to show
the process since they did a short cooking process on stage. Then Diane Wagner
with food and nutrition did a fast and furious set. So I believe it was a half-hour for
the culinary people then Dianes group has a half -hour to show how to make food
of a more healthy variety. So the culinary did more classy dishes and Dianes group
did food that common people can relate too.

high culture and popular culture and it also has the biggest impact of any of the media today.6

Clip 2- Its really important for faculty at IUP to show students at IUP what types of research
they are involved in and what kinds of work they are doing outside the classroom so they
understand that whats happening inside the classroom is connected to both the academic and to

Clip 3- Leidmans first presentation revolves around how reality television is developing and
how it compares to documentaries. The final presentation is about how the character roles in
The Big Bang Theory are very similar to the roles found in a traditional family set up. 9

connection between Academia and the real world. Leidman plans to continue participating in the
conference for this reason. Leidman says the LHCC is an important event at IUP each year. 9
