Dear Parents/Caregivers,
As part of our on-going unit looking at adaptations and survival the Year 8 classes will be visiting the Otago Museum
to look at adaptations in another ecosystem - the rainforest. We will be working with the educators at the Museum to
look at plant and animals special features in different habitats of the rainforest and the impact of humans on this
ecosystem. All classes are booked in for Weeks 5 and 6. The cost of the bus and access to the butterfly house has
been charged to your school account. Some classes will also spend some time in animal attic looking at classification
of animals and adaptations as well.
Room 8 will be going to the museum on Wednesday 4th March . We will be leaving school at 11.45am and
returning at 2.30pm. Students will wear correct P.E. gear, and will bring their lunch with them.
We require some parent helpers to work alongside the groups in the butterfly house. (You can meet us at the
museum, you wont need to travel with the class on the bus). Please return the permission slip below if you can help.
Kind regards
Lauren Roney
