Most people that use Parted Magic will not need virus scanning, so
the large definition files do not come installed by default. Go
to the main menu and click on the "Download Clamav Definitions" from the sub menu "System Tools". If you don't want to download them every time, use the "Save Session" command from the Shut Down menu after they are downloaded the first time. Clamav on Parted Magic does not have a GUI for this program simply because it's too easy to run it from the command line and besides that, it runs faster. Open the terminal and type "clamscan --help" for a full list of options. Most people can "cd" to their windows partition and execute "clamscan -r" to check for viruses. Example: cd /media/sda1 clamscan -r If you would like to run "clamd" at boot just add "clamd" to the APPEND line in the boot loader config that you use. This could be syslinux.cfg, isolinux.cfg, menu.lst, etc. You can also update the clamav config files "/etc/clamav-milter.conf" and "/etc/clamd.conf" if the defaults don't work for you. Once again, use the "Save Session" option from the Shut Down menu so the changes stick.
