Reflection of Pope Francis papal visit to the Philippines
1. Message of Pope Francis for the Filipinos.
The family is the greatest treasure of any country. Let us all work
to protect and strengthen this, the cornerstone of society.
Pope Francis talk about the Filipino Families who are still suffering
from the effects of natural disasters. This situation has caused
families to be separated by migration and the search for
employment, and financial problems strain many households. He
said that our world needs good and strong families to overcome
these threats. The Philippines needs holy and loving families to
protect the beauty and truth of the family in Gods plan and to be a
support and example for other families. Every threat to the family is
a threat to society itself. We need to be a living examples of love,
forgiveness and care. Be sanctuaries of respect for life, proclaiming
the sacredness of every human life from conception to natural
death. He also said that we need to show concern for those who do
not have a family of their own, in particular those who are elderly
and children without parents. Never let them feel isolated, alone
and abandoned, but help them to know that God has not forgotten
them.
2. What attitude do you like most to this Pope, why?
The attitudes that I like most to this Pope are His friendliness and
tenderness to Filipino families, especially to the needy and sick.
Because unlike other famous leaders He chose to ride on a small car
instead of limousine to greet the Filipino families who were waiting
him to arrive. He opened His window to wave His hands to the
Filipinos. In additional, he stopped for a while to bless them.
3. As Filipinos, what did you feel when one of the famous leaders visit our
country?
I am just watching Him on TV but I feel blessed and healed when I
saw Him and His cute smile.A blessing and a healing because after
years of having rough ends particularly the past years of tragic cal

amities and wars, God in the presence of Pope Francis has never le
ft us. Healing because with the pope's presence God heals those h
earts of our fellowmen who were victims of those tragic calamities
that we have over the years. Pope is just God's instrument to show
to us Filipinos that He loves us and He never abandoned us despite
of us turning our backs on Him. Filipinos has
always a big place in God's heart.
