Argumentative Paper Guidelines
***What am I arguing for in this paper?***
I am arguing for social justice in the United States and
throughout the world.

My Writing Checklist:

I will write a five-paragraph paper.


I will begin my introduction with an interesting hook
to gain the readers attention.

I will have a clear thesis statement/claim at the end
of my introduction.

I will have three clear reasons that support my thesis
statement/claim.

I will use my notes and personal experience to use
three or more examples to support each of my three
reasons.
6)
I will include my counter-argument in my third body
paragraph.

I will have a conclusion that does not include Thank
you for reading! or I hope you enjoyed my paper!

I will use transitional words and phrases to keep my
words flowing throughout my paper.
9)
I will be graded on my completion of my
brainstorming/outline sheet, my rough draft, my peer
edit checklist, and a typed final draft.
10) I will make sure I use 12 size font, with Times New
Roman, and single space paragraphs.
