PRE-QUALIFICATION OF CONTRACTORS
The Project for Upgrading Primary Girls Schools into Elementary Schools in Rural Sindh
under Japans Grant Aid for Community Empowerment
1.
Education and Literacy Department, Government of Sindh, Province of the Islamic
Republic of Pakistan (hereinafter called the Recipient) has received a Grant from Japan
International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as per the Grant Agreement dated February 11, 2014
for the purchase of works and services necessary for the implementation of the 1st phase of the
Project.
Japan International Cooperation System (JICS) (hereinafter called the Agent), acting as the
agent for and on behalf of the Recipient to procure works and services under the Project, now
announces the prequalification for the bid for the works of the Project, which include the
followings.
Construction of additional classrooms and lavatories, including some
external works such as boundary walls and walkways at:
10 schools in Mirpurkhas District (Lot 1)

Eligibility: PEC (Pakistan Engineering Council) in Category C-3 or above, under
Construction and Operation of Engineering Works Bye-Laws 1987, having valid license for the
field of specialization-CE10 (General Buildings and Maintenance). Details of the requirements
for eligibility are mentioned in the Pre-qualification documents.

Pre-qualification documents: Applications are invited from Interested National firms for
short listing on submission of a written application on company letter head addressed to
Secretary, Education & Literacy Department upon payment of nonrefundable fee of Rs.500/- in
shape of Cash during office hours.

Deadline of Issuance of Documents: May 23, 2014 up to 3.00 pm

Deadline of Submissions: Documents duly filled and attached with relevant certificates
must reach on the address mentioned herein below on or before 4:30 pm on May 30, 2014. Only
prequalified contractors/firms will be invited to bid.
6.
Interested firms should submit their applications/documents to the following:Address
