Gain sufficient self-awareness to eliminate
the influence of personal biases and values in
working with diverse groups
(Took Caucasian children from mother and they
were dirty, smelled bad and I immediately had
a negative image of her as a mother, but once
she explained why they were like that, the
father had them that weekend and they had
just came home and he had not given them a
bath the entire weekend)

(Helped a angry mother realize we did not
want to take her children and that we were
just looking out for the child and at that
moment the child was in immediate danger
because of their living condition)
