Qualities of a Donor Recognition Board

(DRB)
Creativity

A creative design is essential for recognizing donors, especially in a facility centered around

the arts. Creativity allows for history, metaphors, and organizational values to appear through
the recognition of those who donate to the facility.

Color
The effective use of color adds to the
creativity and also attracts the viewer; as
well as categorize donor amounts.

Ability to alter/change/edit over time

A DRB should have the ability to be altered,
changed, and edited over time. Consider
designing a DRB that contains individual
pieces which allows for the addition of new
donors.

Cohesive--still able to read donors

names, understand purpose, etc.
The main purpose of the DRB is to recognize
The Pump Houses donors. Therefore, it is
important that the creativity of the design
does not overshadow the function.

Smaller things which come together to

form an overall design
Using smaller pieces to create an overall design
allows for an organization to express creativity
while acknowledging each individual donor. As a
whole, the DRB should represent The Pump
Houses dedication to the arts, while fulfilling the
other DRB features.

Includes Key
The DRB should include a key which
details donor amounts and their
corresponding colors.
