TESTING
INFO.

- Repeat-ESL testing has begun and will continue throughout the month of
February. Thank you for your flexibility with our testing schedule. The test is
divided into 4 parts and some components must be given individually.
During this time regular pull-out services will not be held. Please do
not send your ESL students to Ms. Hoelmer or Ms. Arena. At the
beginning of each week will send you a schedule for when your ESL students
will be tested. This week we will continue to test Kindergarten and Second
grade. First Grade, Seventh, and Eighth will also be tested.

-We will begin testing both 4th and 7th grade students for the state writing
assessment (known as MIST) on Wednesday. We will begin with small
accommodation groups. However, please be advised- We may need to use

the two computer labs in the event there are technical difficulties with the
laptops. We will place a testing sign on the doors -so Computer
MAPS classes may need to take place in the teachers classroom.
-Repeat-All Staff Involved in Testing (Gr. 3-8): Please use the link to
show a short (6 min.) video for students on the use of the MIST program
BEFORE you begin testing. I recommend using your Promethean boards to
show the short video. You will need to copy and paste into your web
browser:

-The week of March 2-6 will be the last and FINAL DEA test. We will also be
taking Spring Tripod surveys. The date of those specific tests will be announced in
next weeks MMM.

-Grade Chairs should be reporting to grade level admin. EACH Friday

(before they leave) that all team members websites are up-to-date.
-Remind students to be on LEVEL 0 in the hallways. We will be testing
different grade levels throughout the month of February. The test is very
long (over 2 hrs.) so please make sure your students are quiet and respectful
of those rooms used for testing (identifiable by testing door signs).

-Articles for the Lions' Roar newsletter are due Feb. 20 for the March
edition. Please send grade level, department, and club/sports news to Tracy
Walker (WALKERTL2@scsk12.org or send through the link on the Lowrance
website).
Upcoming due dates: March 27th for April edition.
INSIGHT
SURVEY
RESULTS

-In the Fall and Spring of each year, teachers are asked to participate in an
Insight Survey to help inform school administrators (on a variety of school
related topics) when planning throughout the year. This will be an added
area in our MMM to keep you informed of what we are doing to address your
concerns. Your opinion matters at Lowrance!
-Our goal for Lowrance is to have the same % as the Top Quality
Schools.
Survey Result 1: Fall 2014 Insight Survey results report 68% of teachers agree with the
statement: "A leader at my school regularly helps me to improve my lesson plans."
(District Average -67%; TQ Schools - 82%)
Survey Result 2: Fall 2014 Insight Survey results report 73% of teachers agree with the statement: "I
am satisfied with the support I receive at my school for instructional planning."
(District Average - 76%; TQ Schools - 90%)

How does Lowrance Plan to Address the concerns of those that feel
they are not getting enough instructional and lesson plan support?
Any teacher who would like more lesson plan support can bring his/her
lesson plan to the Tuesday PLCs as well as email any admin. team member
to request support and/or commentary on any lesson plan or to devise a

regular plan for additional feedback/support. Please email Mrs. Beadle

with any additional suggestions you may have to address this vital
area.
