JCU Mens Basketball Securing #2 Seed in the OAC

Tournament
Beating the University Of Mount Union 87-81 on Feb. 18 and Muskingum
101-79 Feb. 22 locked them into the #2 seed for the upcoming OAC Mens
Basketball Tournament.
Cleveland, Ohio February 22, 2015: John Carroll University Mens Basketball
Team has earned their way into the #2 seed of the upcoming OAC Tournament after
winning an impressive six games in a row. JCU had only one loss in the last month
which was against Ohio Northern University 81-92. With a record of 18-5 (15-3 OAC)
recent wins gave JCU a perfect regular season record at home in four years. Marietta
holds the #1 spot with an impressive record of 16-2 in the OAC (23-2 overall) after a 7465 win over Ohio Northern University Sunday, Feb. 22.
A loss to Mount Union would have locked JCU into the #3 seed, but the mens
basketball team answered the call and defeated Mount Union 88-81 giving them an
OAC record of 14-3 going into the game against Muskingum. At the same time that JCU
was facing Muskingum Sunday, Marietta was facing ONU. If Marietta would have lost
their game against ONU, they would have had a tied record with JCU of 15-3.

JCU Mens Basketball Securing #2 Seed in the OAC

The first round of the Mens OAC Basketball Tournament begin Tuesday, Feb. 24.
There the #8 seed faces off against the #1 seed, the #7 seed faces off against the #2
seed, and so on. This means that JCU will be facing off against Heidelberg University
in the quarterfinal round to start off the Tournament. JCU faced Heidelberg on Jan. 28
and won 83-66, so it will be interesting to see what the score turns out to be this first
matchup of the Mens OAC Basketball Tournament. The game is at 7:30 p.m. in the
DeCarlo Varsity Center, University Heights, OH. The winner of this game will advance
to the OAC Semifinals on Feb. 26 and have a chance to compete to be in the
Championship round Feb. 28.
