Eating habits of University Students

This research aims to find what the eating habits of University students of University of
Ruhuna. The research is conducted using questionnaire. For this research 30 students were
selected from all the departments of the H&SS faculty. The questionnaire is attached with the
report.
According to this research the majority of the students take three main meals per day.
Nevertheless the minority of the students takes two main meals per day. It seems that 23% of
students like to take snacks for their morning meal. 72% of students said that they liked to
take rice and curry for their morning meal. Only 5% students said that they took only cup of
tea for morning meal. Many students like take rice and curry for their lunch and dinner and
20% of students love to light food for dinner.

According to this research we can find what the most important meal is for a day.99% of
students said that their most important meal is lunch. Normally the majority of the students
uses university canteen for their meals. 40% of students said that they prepared their meals by
themselves at boarding places. Only 10% of students bring their meals from homes. It seems
that many students share their meals with friends.
According to this research 85% of students eat takeaway food in addition to the main meals.
They like buns and etc. Some students said that they took fruit salad after lunch. But 99% of
students rarely take fruit.
According to this research we can find 99% of students are not satisfied with their eating
habits and most of students describe their eating habits as healthy. Also most of the students
in boarding places prefer organic food.
