Geology Presentation Rubric

You will teach the class about a topic that you chose about geology to the class. In your lesson,
you will need to present the information to the class and come up with a way to measure
whether or not they understand the material. Your job is to become an EXPERT on the topic
that you chose. This means that you need to UNDERSTANDING exactly what you are teaching
so you can explain the basic ideas to those who do not understand them.
Your grade will be based on the requirements listed below.

ALL presentations must have:

Visuals (something for people to look at)


o Examples: videos, actual materials people can look at, pictures, models
o Videos can be no longer than 10 minutes
o If a PowerPoint is used, it cannot have any words other than a title page
No more than one 3 x 5 in. notecard of information
There must be enough information to last for at least 30 minutes
A worksheet with at least 5 questions for people to answer to see if people learned the

information
A works cited page to verify there was no plagiarism

*** The person presenting the information needs to be an EXPERT on the information
compared to other students so that he/she can provide information without needing to look
at notes. The person also needs to be able to answer basic questions about the topic.
