    IdonotremembermychildhoodverywellbutIdorememberbeingveryquietinnurseryschool.Mymothersaidthat
    myteachersthoughtIremindedthemofadeafpersonbecauseIdidnotparticipateinclassroomactivitieswiththe
    otherchildren.IfItalkedaboutanythingwiththeotherchildren,itwasprobablyaskingthemwhethertheylikedhe
    manornot.Youknowhemanthatmachocartoonguy.Iwouldn'taskkidsanythingelseasfarasIcanrecall.I
    rememberhavingahardtimefollowingdirections.Ialsorememberbeingteasedbyboysthatwerebulliesandwould
    callmestupid.

    IgottestedattheHackensackChildren'shospitalandtheysaidthatIhadPervasiveDevelopmentalDisorder.ThatfallI
    startedgoingtoaprivateoccupationaltherapisttoworkonmyfineandgrossmotor.Ilookedattheregular
    kindergartenclassbutrememberfeelingverylostandconfused.Myparentsandmychildstudyteamhadmetestedfor
    specialeducation.WelookedatseveralschoolsoneofthembeingtheForumSchoolinWaldwickbuttheydidn'tfeel
    thatthatwastheplaceforme.WelookedataschoolcalledECLCandthatiswhereIdecidedtogo.Imetsomevery
    brightkidsthereoneofthembeingaboy...whomrecentlyIgotintouchwithagainbecauseIreturnedtoECLCafter
    havingdifficultyinthemainstreamedclasses.Ihadonetruefriendinthepublicschoolbutwe'renotfriendsanymore.

    ManyofthegirlscalledmegigglesbecauseIsmiledtoomuchbutIwasjustputtingonanactbecauseIwasn'tvery
    happyatthattimeandIstartedtoseeapsychiatrist.Ihaven'tmetmanygirlswithasperger'swhoaremyage.Manyof
    theonesIknowofareintheirmidteensorlate20s.IhadbeengoingtoasocialskillsgroupinRamseyandnowIam
    makingfriendswithgirlsmyageatmycollegeinConnecticut.
