TONKIN NAMES
Tonkin (or tonking) is a former state of N. French Indochina on the
Gulf of Tonkin forms the largest part of N. Vietnam. A baby is
called an offspring and a group is called a colobine.

LOCOMOTION
The Tonkin snub nosed monkey moves through the forest walking on
all fours, climbing, leaping ,or even hanging suspended from the
branches. In order to avoid being eaten they stay high up in a tree.

ANIMAL APPEARANCE
The monkey has black fur, with pale blue color around its eyes, big
pink lips, fuzzy round ears ,and a snubbed nose.

DIET
The Tonkin snub nosed monkey eat fruit and leaves. In the winter
they live on lichens and back when trees are bare. On the food web
the Tonkin snub nosed monkey is on the bottom of the food chain. It
goes from people to forest cats to large bird to snakes and the Tonkin
Snub Nosed monkey.

HABITAT AND RANGE

Their habitat regions are tropical and terrestrial. Terrestrial biomes are
rainforests. Tonkin snub nosed monkeys live on the outside of China.

LIFE CYCLE &

REPRODUTION
Mating all starts with the females the female makes eye contact with

the male and walks away and when the male shows interest they mate.
The Tonkin snub nosed monkey has many predators people, forest
cats, large birds, snakes, and the Tonkin snub nosed monkey.

DEFENSE/ OFFENSE
The Tonkin snub nosed monkey stay in large groups high in the trees
so that they can scare off the dangerous predators away. So if the
Tonkin snub nosed monkey is in a colobine the predators will run.

BEHAVIOR
The Tonkin snub nosed monkey can be alone, but it will most likely
be a female if the female meets a male they can mate and have babies.
So the Tonkin Snub Nosed monkey can be alone unless they meet a
male and ounce they have babies the babies will grow up and it will
become a group.
