Electrical / Instrument cluster

As in the predecessor series, 3 round instruments are arranged in the instrument cluster, The indicator functions have been
reassigned in certain cases. The instrument cluster is designed with backlighting technology. A new feature is the bar chart
display for the fuel tank level and for the coolant temperature.

1 Left turn signal indicator lamp

3 Speedometer
4 Multifunction display with outside temperature display,
status line, trip counter
5 Distance warning lamp (only with DTR)
6 Right turn signal indicator lamp
7 Coolant temperature display with warning lamp
8 Tachometer with ABS malfunction indicator lamp,
high beam indicator lamp, seat belt warning lamp,
restraint systems warning lamp
9 Selector lever position with transmission range display
and odometer
10 Clock with preglow indicator, engine diagnosis
indicator lamp, brake indicator lamp
11 Fuel tank level display with warning lamp
12 Instrument lighting, reset button
The data of ASSYST PLUS (FSS) are also displayed in the instrument cluster, or can be retrieved there.
Description
The multifunction display shows the odometer reading and trip counter reading, the gear display and the transmission range
display. Additional information is displayed to the driver on the multifunction display for a limited period of time. Such displays
are shown when the driver intervenes in the dynamic control systems (DIR, ESP, cruise control, speed limiter) or activates the
Audio, Telematics, convenience or safety systems.
In addition, the display shows the vehicle speed in a digital form and also service information, as required.
Note:
The instrument cluster is removed as shown in the illustration:
First of all, use a plastic wedge to lever out the surround (1) of the instrument cluster
After this, slacken the screws (5) and carefully remove the instrument cluster
