Tangled Web

Purpose: This icebreaker will be a fun way to increase students

communication skills. It will get them moving and give them a chance to
find out about their classmates while telling a little about themselves.
It is a very inclusionary activity that will motivate all students to begin
the day participating with the group.

Instructions: All that is needed for this activity is a ball of yarn. The
class gets in a circle and one person starts by holding the ball. He or
she begins by saying his or her name and one fact about him or herself.
Then, that person throws the ball to another person in the class. Each
person should be instructed to throw the yarn to a person who has not
yet been chosen. The cycle continues until everyone has had a turn and
the yarn makes a web figure.
