Coastal Desert

Where thses types of deserts are located in moderately cool to warm areas
such as the Nearctic and Neotropical realm for a good example it is the
Atacama of Chile22
Weather: summers are long and cool and the temperatures range from 13 to
24 degrees and the winters can get to five degrees or lower. The average
rainfall is 8-13 cm in some areas21
Soil: The soil is textured and is almost like a salt texture because it is fine like
salt
Plants:SOme of the plants living in this enviorment are salt bush, rice grass
and black bush20
Animals: Due to the lack of water so of the animals barry themselves under
ground and Lizards,snakes, Golden eagles19and other animals live here
Cold Desert

Weather: These Deserts are described as cold and snowy at higher


elevations. Summers are short and moist, Winter temperatures go from -2 to
4 degrees and summer is 21-26 degrees22
Plants are far apart and sagebrush covers the ground and plants have spiny
leaves.23The animals that live here are kagaroo mice/rats, pocket mice and
jack rabbits are common site in this
