HALFTIME
Once every few years the UK Band finds that special formula for a halftime show which has extraordinary
impact on the fans in Commonwealth Stadium. The “Dixieland” show a few years ag0 was one of those, a show
which was repeated at home and to the accolades of the fans in several other stadiums in the conference. The
show presented a few weeks ago representing jazz. music of different eras was, from the reaction of the fans and
from the comments later received, another one of those shows which not only bears repeating, but demands at
least one more performance. Again then, by “popular demand”, the “Wildcat” Band presents for this halftime
the “JAZZ” show, featuring Woody Herman’s “Sing, Sing, Sing”; the modem jazz of Chuck Mangione’s “Legend
of the One Fyed Sailor”; “One O'Clock Jump”, and “Alexander’s Ragtime Band”. A special finale, different, but
familiar, will please the fans. For all those Kentuckians who are Tennessee bound, look for this show next week
at Knoxville tums blue.
