MEDIA RELEASE
TASMANIANS BETRAYED ON CADBURY FUNDING
Tasmanians have again been deceived and let down by the Abbott Government over
its failed $16 million promise to upgrade Cadburys Claremont factory.
Shadow Minister for Regional Development, Julie Collins and Tasmanian Labor
Senator Carol Brown said todays announcement showed Tony Abbott and the
Tasmanian Liberals never planned to deliver the $16 million.
The Abbott Government have broken yet another Tasmanian election promise.
Cadbury have been forced to walk away from this critical investment because the
Abbott Government has made this grant simply unworkable.
Tony Abbott has essentially engineered this grant to fail and as a result has cost
Tasmania 320 new jobs he promised.
Ms Collins and Senator Brown said the Abbott Government needed to stop treating
Tasmanians like fools and outline a genuine jobs plan for Tasmania now.

With much fanfare Mr Abbott came to Hobart to promise this funding and he has
failed to deliver, Senator Brown said.
He has let down Tasmanians and the Cadbury workers. This has been a debacle
from the start and shows how dysfunctional this Government is.
It is vital that this $16 million is now spent on other Tasmanian projects.
