SYNOPSIS
Brief Introduction
While material handling in industries or workshops, it will be very difficult for the persons to
lift the heavy materials. It requires at least two to three people to lift it and transfer it to other places. So
in order to overcome this problem, we have designed a prototype which can lift the heavy components
without any hesitation and with ease.
Objectives of the Project
The small scale industries may reduced man power and also reduced the maintenance cost.The
user can lift heavy things easily
Brief Methodology
Here our project consists of four wheels by which the movement of the vehicle can be
controlled easily. There will a lifting plate above the wheels which is used to place the material. The
lifting plate is fixed to the one end of a steel rope. Another end of the steel rope is fixed with the roller.
The roller is connected to a spur gear as shown in the figure. The spur gear is engaged to another spur
gear to which a handle is attached. The handle is to operate the lift i.e. using the handle the lift can be
raised and lowered. Once the lift is loaded material, by rotating the handle the lift can be raised. This is
done because the handle is connected to the spur gear, as the handle is rotated, the spur gear is rotated and
it also drives the engaged spur gear. Thus roller also rotates providing the rope to revolve around it. This
result in a pulling force to the lift as the ropes another end is connected to the lift as said before. In the
same way if the lift has to be lowered the handle is rotated in the opposite direction, the revolved rope is
released from the roller and the lift is lowered and the material can be unloaded to the required height
level and place.

It can be useful for material handling in industries and workshops.
